Shoe of the season

Oh so beautiful.
Oh so expensive.
Oh how I love these.
And they even have a lower heel!

Valentino - Paris. Enough said.

Aahhhh-mazing Silhouette Cutter

Check THIS out! I didn't think anything like this was possible...but I'm SO glad to know it is! This silhouette cutting machine works like a printer but instead of printing the image, it cuts it.

Huh? Really?

Oh yes!

For us creative types this is genius! The wheels are already turning in my head for all the projects I could use it for. Please visit Twig & Thistle to check out a review and see their giveaway.

nothing is what it seems

The photo above is from a design contest sponsored by Levi's to "reinvent the clothesline". I love how it is a simple, effective way to marry form and function. The hands spell out "nothing" in American sign language and then the whole piece opens and unfolds into a clothesline. Perfect for a Manhattan studio, no?

Thoughts, opinions, do you like it?

See ya later, evite!

I've long been frustrated by evite. I love the design of notes and pretty invitations and the evite options just don't work for me. Luckily, I recently discovered this genius way to send {almost} real invitations, notes and even thank you cards. Paperless Post has gorgeous options and is a very unique way of inviting guests while still maintaining the ease and accessibility of an online invite. Plus, it helps save the environment, too. Bonus!

Look at these beauties...

Overnight Flight

{image from The New York Times}
This hilarious pictorial of an overnight/international flight is spot on. It reminds me that sometimes traveling isn't as glamorous or exciting as you think when you are booking the trip or dreaming about your next vacation. But at least it can be funny :)

L'esprit Boheme

{photo from calypso}
I LOVE pretty much anything by Calypso St. Barth. There is a store in Boston where I used to go and drool, but here in Charleston we are without. It's tough, I tell you.

The fall collection from Calypso's just landed and I can't possibly decide which of the following 10 items I like more. I think I may have narrowed it down to the scarf...no, wait, the blouse. No....actually, maybe the ruffle skirt. Oh well, guess I'll just have to have them all {I wish!}

Dancing Children

I've always loved this photo. Sadly, I no longer have the photographer name/credit for it. If you know, please email me so I can add it.

When I see this, it always reminds me to lighten up a little and just have fun :)

Heart of Sole

{photo from Our Labor of Love}
Something about this photo spoke to me this morning. I just think it's so sweet for a wedding day as a subtle, romantic reminder plus it will help keep your new shoes from slipping :)

Nantucket Ride

{photo from shelter}
Love, love, love this vintage land cruiser, the house and the location...Nantucket Island. Being from Massachusetts, I grew up with a deep appreciation for Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard and I hate that I live so far away now. I spent one of my very favorite summers ever living with a bunch of friends in a house on the Vineyard. We all had random jobs on the island, spent days off at the beach, exploring the island and playing Beiruit until the wee hours of the morning.

There's just something about a dock...

{Image: David Hamilton via Definitely Golden via South Of Market}
Don't you think? There's just something about a dock that makes me so happy. Maybe it's that water is nearby, maybe it's that it likely means summertime is upon us. Maybe it's the rickety boards beneath my feet. Whatever it is, I love it.

Sink Your Toes In

I would love to sink my toes in the sand and do some yoga. Maybe I will!

Happy weekend everyone! Enjoy!

Long Weekends Are Fabulous

...and so is the beach...with friends...on a holiday. We walked from our friends pool party out to the beach on Sullivan's Island and waded in the water for a bit. There is a section separated from the rest of the ocean by a sand jetty and it's very calm, shallow and lovely to walk around in. Hope everyone had a great weekend, too!

Happy 4th of July!!

The image above is by British artist Ann Carrington. You may remember her from my all time favorite reality show, 9 By Design. I absolutely LOOOOVE that show and am so sad the season is over. I am constantly inspired by their designs, their family and their work.

We are headed to a pool party this afternoon and then to the fireworks this evening! Happy 4th of July everyone!

Red, White & Blue

Feeling inspired by these yummy popsicles. If there is ever a good time to indulge in these, this weekend would be it! I'm getting all my red, white & blue ready for tomorrow and need to go find us some popsicles!!

Happy Summer Weekend

When was the last time you were on a ferris wheel? I cen't even remember, which means it must have been too long ago! May your weekend be filled with sun, friends and some old school fun!
