nothing is what it seems

The photo above is from a design contest sponsored by Levi's to "reinvent the clothesline". I love how it is a simple, effective way to marry form and function. The hands spell out "nothing" in American sign language and then the whole piece opens and unfolds into a clothesline. Perfect for a Manhattan studio, no?

Thoughts, opinions, do you like it?

See ya later, evite!

I've long been frustrated by evite. I love the design of notes and pretty invitations and the evite options just don't work for me. Luckily, I recently discovered this genius way to send {almost} real invitations, notes and even thank you cards. Paperless Post has gorgeous options and is a very unique way of inviting guests while still maintaining the ease and accessibility of an online invite. Plus, it helps save the environment, too. Bonus!

Look at these beauties...

Overnight Flight

{image from The New York Times}
This hilarious pictorial of an overnight/international flight is spot on. It reminds me that sometimes traveling isn't as glamorous or exciting as you think when you are booking the trip or dreaming about your next vacation. But at least it can be funny :)

L'esprit Boheme

{photo from calypso}
I LOVE pretty much anything by Calypso St. Barth. There is a store in Boston where I used to go and drool, but here in Charleston we are without. It's tough, I tell you.

The fall collection from Calypso's just landed and I can't possibly decide which of the following 10 items I like more. I think I may have narrowed it down to the scarf...no, wait, the blouse. No....actually, maybe the ruffle skirt. Oh well, guess I'll just have to have them all {I wish!}

Dancing Children

I've always loved this photo. Sadly, I no longer have the photographer name/credit for it. If you know, please email me so I can add it.

When I see this, it always reminds me to lighten up a little and just have fun :)
